BERKELEY COUNTY, SC : 1 killed in fatal crash on U.S. Hwy 17 in Berkeley Co. on Sunday, 10th March 2024

One person is dead following a collision that occurred Sunday night on U.S. Highway 17-Alternate in Berkeley County.
Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway says the collision occurred around 6:11 p.m. near Diamond Back Lane 1 mile south of Jamestown.
Officials say a 2024 Mitsubishi SUV was traveling south on U.S. 17 when a 2014 Kia Sedan traveling north crossed the center line striking the SUV head-on.
The driver of the SUV was injured and transported to a local hospital. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
