Brownsville,TX : Police seek truck’s driver on May,Saturday 19th 2018

Brownsville police are searching for the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run accident that left an off-duty police officer dead.

Authorities report Pedro Vela Jr., an officer with the Bishop Police Department, died from injuries he sustained when his motorcycle collided with the truck.

The accident happened at about 4:18 p.m. Saturday on the 7500 block of Boca Chica Boulevard. The vehicle sought is believed to be an early 2000 model Ford F-I50 extended cap pickup truck.

Police are asking anyone with information on the truck or its driver to contact Brownsville Crime Stoppers at (956) 546-8477.
