Murphy, TX : Two killed in single-car Murphy crash at FM 544 and Brand Road in Murphy on May 16, 2014

Two young men are dead after a crash that ended on some railroad tracks in Murphy.

Three people were in a car heading west on FM 544 Friday when the driver lost control near Brand Road.

Police say the car hit a guardrail and slid sideways, finally stopping on the tracks. No train was involved.

All three people were thrown from the car. Two of them were killed. One is from Murphy, the other is from Wylie.

Police say the cause of the crash is under investigation, but speed could be a factor.
