Greene County, MS : Woman killed in a two vehicle crash on Hwy. 63 and Alice Rd. outside Leakesville on Friday, March 24, 2017

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash that killed a woman in Greene County late last week.

Master Sgt. Brent Barfield said the crash happened Friday evening near the intersection of Hwy. 63 and Alice Rd. outside Leakesville.

Barfield said 20-year-old Lauren Norris, of Neely, MS, was driving south on the highway when she was hit by a truck driving south from Alice Rd.

The driver of the truck and three passengers were taken to Greene County Hospital for treatment. Barfield said they all were wearing seat belts.

Barfield said Norris had to be extricated from her vehicle, and she was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green County Coroner. She was also wearing a seat belt.

The crash is still being investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
