Salem, N.H : Man killed when thrown from motorcycle in Salem crash on Tuesday night, August 2, 2016

One person was killed Tuesday night in a motorcycle accident in Salem.

Officers were sent to the crash on Shadow Lake Road around 7:30 p.m.

Leo Martin, 48, of Salem, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Martin was traveling west when he suddenly lost control of the motorcycle, slid about 200 feet and crashed into a parked car, according to investigators.

Police said both Martin and the motorcycle were thrown into the air and off the road. They said he was not wearing a helmet.

The accident is under investigation.
