Two-vehicle crash on West Farms Road has left one person dead

A two-vehicle crash on West Farms Road has left one person dead in a crash reported about 11:15 a.m. Friday, authorities said.

West Farms Road is closed between Richard Road and Casino Drive, said Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd.

A medical examiner is at the crash site, according to a witness at the scene. Two people were sent to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune who were in one of the two vehicles and a blue tarp covered the second vehicle at the scene.

The road “is expected to be closed for several hours,” Dodd said.

Additional information will be provided when police have had more time to investigate, she said.
