BUENA VISTA, VA : 16-year-old hit, killed while riding bike in Buena Vista on Wednesday, 29h May 2024

A 16-year-old boy is dead after he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bike in Buena Vista on May 29.

The police department says around 6:30 p.m., the teen was riding his bicycle in the 100 block of E 39th Street when he was hit by a vehicle.

He was rushed to the Roanoke Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Buena Vista police said the driver stayed at the scene and was interviewed by officers.

Buena Vista City Public Schools has identified the teen as Lucas Smith.
