SCOTTSDALE, AZ : One man and two children are dead following a single-vehicle crash on Saturday August 2nd 2014
Authorities say a man and two children are dead following a single-vehicle crash in suburban Phoenix.
Scottsdale police officer David Pubins says a pickup truck carrying the three, along with the children's father, went out of control and rolled at about 4 p.m. Saturday.
He says in a news release 36-year-old Gregg Casillas, 12-year-old Leonor Bravo and 11-year-old Alyssa Bravo were killed in the crash at 141st Street and Rio Verde in Scottsdale. The man and one of the girls were thrown from the truck.
Manuel Bravo, the girls' father and a passenger, was injured but was able to extricate himself. The 39-year-old Phoenix man is expected to survive.
Casillas, of Wadell, was Manuel Bravo's brother-in-law.
There was no word on the cause of the crash, but Pubins says alcohol and bad weather were believed to be factors.
