MANHEIM TOWNSHIP, PA : 11-year-old dies after Lancaster County crash on Tuesday, 23rd February 2021

An 11-year-old died hours after a head-on crash Tuesday night in Lancaster County, according to police.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Lititz Pike.

Manheim Township police said a vehicle driven by Jennifer Johnson, 35, of Lancaster, had been traveling southbound. As she approached the bridge leading into Lancaster, police said, she crossed into the northbound lane and hit another vehicle.

Police said Johnson, her 11-year-old passenger, and two people in the other vehicle were taken to area hospitals with serious to life-threatening injuries. The child died at the hospital, police said.

Officers closed the bridge Wednesday afternoon to reconstruct the crash, taking measurements to determine the events before, during and after the collision.
