Town of Wyalusing, WI : Madison man killed and four people injured in a head-on crash on Highway 18 in Grant County early Tuesday, April 14, 2015

One person was killed and four others injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 18 early Tuesday morning, according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to Highway 18 near Fuller Hollow Road in the town of Wyalusing at 2:30 a.m. for a report of a two-vehicle crash.

Investigators said Isiaka Barrow, 50, of Madison, was traveling west on Highway 18 when he drifted across the center line while negotiating a curve and struck a truck in the eastbound lane driven by Justin Ambrose, 33, of Deville, Louisiana.

Barrow was pronounced dead at the scene. Ambrose and his four passengers were taken to Prairie du Chien Hospital. Ambrose was later flown to a hospital in La Crosse. The rest were treated for minor injuries and released, according to the release.

The passengers were Tyler Waters, 23, of Saltillo, Mississippi, Jerry Hollingsworth, 21, of Pineville, Louisiana and Kenny Vestal, 56, of Lake Havasu, Arizona.

Highway 18 was closed for about five hours and traffic was rerouted.

The Mount Hope Fire Department, Patch Grove Fire Department, Bloomington Fire Department, Bloomington Jaws, West Grant EMS, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Prairie du Chien Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit assisted at the scene.
