Tallahassee, FL : Fort Myers woman killed when car runs red light on Monday, 31st October 2016
A Fort Myers woman died after another vehicle ran a red light and slammed into her car at a Fort Myers intersection late Monday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said Annette Cara Jones-Bowers, 55, had a steady green arrow when she began to turn onto US-41 from Micheal G. Rippe Parkway and was hit on her driver's side by a Dodge Charger.
She was pronounced dead at Gulf Coast Hospital.
Witnesses told troopers the driver of the Dodge, Cynthia M. Moss, 52, of Cape Coral, failed to stop for a red light. Charges are pending.
According to the crash report, two passengers in the Dodge Charger were intoxicated. They were identified as Dana Ryan Mcardle, 37, and Gonzalo Pimentel, 26, both of Fort Myers.
Alcohol results for the driver of the Dodge are pending.
