One person is dead following a crash in south St. Louis

One person is dead following a crash in south St. Louis. According to police the car hit the median on Interstate 55 around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The car was going southbound when it lost control. A male and female inside the car were taken to an area hospital where the man was pronounced dead.

The woman is in stable condition. The highway was shut down until 1:30 a.m. while crews investigated the accident.
