Wisconsin Dells ,WI : Man killed in crash involving truck hauling live bees identified on Saturday night ,July 18th 2015

A man killed in a crash with a truck hauling live bees on the interstate near Wisconsin Dells on Saturday night has been identified, according to a release.

Around 10:40 p.m. emergency crews responded to a crash on eastbound Interstate 90 near mile marker 91.8, officials said.

A silver Chevrolet Impala driven by Frank L. Williamson, 63, of Minneapolis, was going west on the interstate when it went through the median and hit a semitrailer head-on, investigators said. The semi turned over and caught fire, blocking all eastbound lanes of traffic for about five hours. The Impala stopped on the media shoulder of the eastbound lanes.

Williamson was killed in the crash, according to the release. The passenger in the Toyota, a Tiffany Murray, 30, of Zion, Illinois, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by Med Flight to UW Hospital.

The driver of the semi, Robert K. Hellriegel, 57, of Frankfort, Illinois, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Claire Hospital, officials said.

Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the release.

The semi was hauling a load of live bees and beehives, according to the release. Bees and Baskets of Cazenovia assisted in the recovery of the bees.
