Thousand Oaks, CA : Motorist injured after vehicle leaves Highway 101 in Thousand Oaks on Monday afternoon, October 20, 2014

A motorist was taken to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center on Monday afternoon after his vehicle went off an embankment on Highway 101 in Thousand Oaks, officials said. The crash was reported about 1:40 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway near the Moorpark Road, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. The vehicle went off the road about 50 feet and the driver was taken by a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance. There was no information on his condition, fire officials said.. One lane of the highway was being blocked while the fire department responded and the vehicle was towed. The California Highway Patrol also responded to the crash.
