Phoenix, AZ : Three people injured after 2-car, 2-pedestrian crash involving police cruiser in Phoenix on Thursday, March 3, 2016

A Phoenix police officer was involved in a two-car, two-pedestrian crash at the intersection of 7th Avenue and Jefferson.

Two pedestrians on the sidewalk were struck.

Three people were taken to the hospital -- both pedestrians and the driver of a civilian pickup truck. The driver has been released and the pedestrians, one male and one female, are still hospitalized with injuries police do not believe are life-threatening.

The police officer was checked for injury and has been determined to be OK.

The intersection is closed during the investigation.
