Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana
A man from Robert was killed Tuesday night (Oct. 28) in a single-vehicle crash in Tangipahoa Parish after his car struck a culvert in a ditch alongside U.S. 190. The victim, identified by Louisiana State Police as Bobby Creekmore Jr., was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.
Master Trooper Greg Marchand said Creekmore was driving a 1991 Ford eastbound on U.S. 190 in Robert near the Walmart Distribution Center at 11:40 p.m. when he veered right off of the road, entered a ditch and struck a culvert.
Creekmore, 44, was pronounced dead at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Marchand said.
Impairment is not suspected in the crash, Marchand said, but a blood sample was taken for a toxicological analysis. Those results are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
Marchand reminded drivers and passengers to always buckle up when getting on the road.
