San Antonio, TX : Woman dies after crashing into light pole on North Side Tuesday night, May 10, 2016

A woman died late Tuesday night after losing control of her Chevrolet Camaro on the North Side and slamming into the concrete base of a light pole.

Witnesses told police that the woman, identified by the San Antonio Police Department as Tracy Cardona, 34, was speeding in the 3600 block of West Avenue around 11:22 p.m. when she lost control while changing lanes, according to SAPD.

Witnesses tried to perform CPR on the woman after crash to save her life, but she was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical responders who arrived shortly after the crash.

Police said the crash involved only Cardona’s car, and no criminal charges are pending in the case.
