Oakland ,CA : 37- Years old Julius Lewis Killed after his Motorcycle crashed along the highway 580 on Early Saturday morning ,May 30th 2015

A motorcyclist killed in a crash on Interstate Highway 580 in Oakland early Saturday morning was identified today as a 37-year-old Oakland resident.

Julius Lewis was killed when his motorcycle crashed on the highway near the Coolidge Avenue on-ramp, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 12:51 a.m. Saturday. Officers found Lewis down with his 2014 Yamaha R6 on the right

shoulder of the highway, CHP Officer Clayton Nett said.

The officers provided medical aid to Lewis until Oakland fire paramedics arrived, but he was pronounced dead on the highway.

Investigators do not know why Lewis crashed his motorcycle. Anyone who saw the motorcycle either before or after the crash has been asked to call the Oakland CHP office at (510) 450-3821.
