One person was killed and four others hurt in a crash in Indiana County on Sunday morning.

Authorities said the car missed a turn on Saltsburg Road in Conemaugh Township and struck a tree.

Investigators said the driver, Matthew Pommer, 21, and a passenger were flown to a hospital for treatment. Two other passengers fled on foot but were caught nearby.

A fourth passenger, Luke White, 21, died at the scene of the crash.

The other passengers were identified as Austin Hopkins, 20, Jacob Gray, 19, and Ian South, 20.

All of the victims were residents of Saltsburg except South, who is from New Alexandria.

Police believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
