Wrong way driver causes crash, traffic snarl on I-49
A driver heading north on I-49 South caused a major traffic headache for motorists heading into Lafayette from St. Landry Parish Monday afternoon.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop I spokesman Stephen Hammons, a Dodge Caravan was going wrong way on the interstate when it hit a truck head-on. The crash occurred near mile marker 11 between Lafayette and Opelousas.
