A sophomore at Glasgow High School was killed early Saturday morning in an automobile accident on state Highway 3 in Howard County.

Phillip M. Woodruff, 15, was a passenger in a car driven by 17-year-old Bryant Hubbard of Glasgow, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

At 12:40 a.m., the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu left the road, hit a ditch and overturned.

Another passenger, Bailey Chew, 15, of Fayette was airlifted to University Hospital with serious injuries. No one in the car was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

The Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow posted an obituary for Phillip, noting that he was born in Columbia on June 24, 2000, to Joseph Woodruff and Megan Brand.

He was active in Future Farmers of America and enjoyed the outdoors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glasgow.
