Bryan County, OK : Bennington man died after a wreck on State Highway 70 west of Bokchito Road on Friday evening, August 26, 2016
A Bennington, Oklahoma man died Friday evening while attempting to pass a truck on the highway.
A report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said William Minyard, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck on State Highway 70 east about three miles west of Bokchito Road in the Albany Community in Bryan County, Oklahoma.
Trooper Mitchell Patten said Mr. Minyard was driving a Dodge truck eastbound on State Highway 70 and struck the oversize load of the truck driven by Oscar Martinez, 38, of Monterrey, Mexico. Mr. Minyard, Patten said in his report, was attempting to pass the truck driven by Martinez. Martinez was not injured in the wreck.
Patten’s report listed the odor of alcohol as a comment on Mr. Minyard’s condition. The report said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
