Lawrence,MA : Man dies in Salem motorcycle crash on may, Saturday 27th 2017
A 57-year-old New Hampshire man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail off Interstate 93 north, according to state police.
Police said Roger Marchand of Northwood was ejected from his 2003 Harley-Davidson and pronounced dead at the Exit 1 off-ramp just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police said although a helmet was not found, they continue to investigate whether Marchand was wearing one prior to the crash.
The northbound exit was reduced from two lanes to one for two and a half hours while police cleared the accident scene. Exit 1 south was closed for about three hours.
State police continue to investigate and urge anyone with information to contact Trooper Stefan Wagner at 603-223-8598.
Salem police and fire officials assisted along with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
