A 62-year-old man died after a truck crashed early Monday morning on Interstate-84 near Boardman, officials said.

James Crow was driving a 2016 Freightliner, which, for unknown reasons, drifted off the highway and rolled onto its side around 5:40 a.m., according to a news release from Oregon State Police. It took two hours for rescuers to pull him from the wreckage. He died later at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland.

The semi-truck was towing two tankers of milk, and roughly 7,000 gallons spilled into a ditch near the crash, officials said.

The milk flowed into the Coyote Springs Wildlife area, managed by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, according to the release.

Officials found no immediate loss of fish or wildlife, the release said, and are waiting for recommendations from the Department of Environmental Quality regarding clean-up.
