An Inola woman has died from injuries received in a single-vehicle wreck on a Rogers County road.
According to the report of Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Jon Ysbrand, 34-year-old Kayla Lowther, of Inola, was southbound on SH88 near county road EW57 just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, when she departed the roadway to the right, striking a mailbox and a tree.
Following the collision, Lowther was transported by Air Evac to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where she was admitted in critical condition with head, trunk internal, and leg injuries, Ysbrand reported.
She expired later that same day from her injuries, according to Medical Examiner Angel Manjarrez.
Ysbrand’s report cited Lowther’s departing the roadway as being for “unknown reasons,” but she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
OHP Trooper Ysbrand is with Troop B of the Tulsa division of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
