Lancaster, SC : Motorcyclist dies in multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday, July 25, 2017

The accident closed a portion of S.C. 5 for nearly two hours and rerouted traffic on both sides of the accident scene through Van Wyck.
The accident happened shortly after 5 p.m. about a mile east of the Catawba River bridge near Carter Quality Plumbing at 1408 Rock Hill Highway (S.C. 5).
No details were available about the accident by press time Tuesday, including the identity of the motorcyclist.
On scene, emergency crews and their vehicles surrounded the place where the victim came to rest at the crest of a long hill leading down to the river.
Two vehicles were stopped several hundred yards beyond the accident scene in front of the plumbing company, one of them a gray Nissan SUV with the front left side of the bumper ripped off and hanging, their drivers pacing nearby.
According to emergency radio traffic, emergency crews cleared the scene and reopened S.C. 5 about 7 p.m.
