Aurora,CO : One killed, two hurt in head-on crash on Peoria in Aurora on October, Saturday 28th 2017

One person was killed and two other hospitalized after a head-on crash Saturday morning on South Peoria Street.

According to Aurora police, the crash happened about 10 a.m. Saturday at Peoria and East Mexico Avenue.

Police said a 2008 Silver Nissan Maxima was southbound on Peoria “at a high rate of speed” when it hit a dip in the road and the driver lost control. The vehicle then hit a curb before careening into the northbound lanes where it slammed into a 2012 Jeep Wrangler.

Emergency crews rushed the driver and passenger of the Nissan to a local hospital where the passenger later died of his injuries. The driver of the Nissan and the driver of the Jeep are hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The names of the three people involved have not been released.

Police said drugs or alcohol are not factors in the crash and both drivers were wearing seat belts.
