UNION COUNTY, FL : Bradford County man, 63, dies in crash on CR 231 on Thursday, March 16th 2017

A Bradford County man was killed Thursday afternoon when a Freightliner box truck hit his car head-on on County Road 231 in Union County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Dara Goodson, 63, of Brooker, was driving south in his Toyota Corolla as a Jacksonville man was driving north in the box truck.

The Highway Patrol said the two men were both going around a curve when the box truck crossed the center line and hit the front of Goodson's car.

Goodson was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The driver of the box truck was not injured.

The road was closed for several hours as the crash was investigated.
