San Diego, CA : Mattress causes motorcycle crash on I-5 in Mission Bay on Wednesday, April 29, 2015

A motorcycle and a car collided on I-5 south near Clairemont Drive late Wednesday night after trying to avoid a mattress in the slow lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The California Highway Patrol said a mattress was in the slow lane, and a vehicle and motorcycle crashed.

Witnesses said the motorcycle and its operator caught on fire. Lanes were closed, but reopened around 10:40 p.m. The condition of the victim was not immediately confirmed.
