KINGSBURY, NY : Truck driver ticketed for Route 4 truck crash on April, Wednesday 12th 2017
A Vermont man who was driving the car carrier tractor-trailer that overturned on Route 4 on Wednesday was issued two tickets after the crash, police said.
One person was taken to Glens Falls Hospital for treatment of minor injuries after her vehicle was hit by the trailer portion of the tractor-trailer as its driver lost control in a curve, according to State Police.
The truck driver, David C. Camara, 73, of Fair Haven, Vermont, was ticketed for speed not reasonable and failure to maintain his lane after the crash just south of the Route 149 intersection.
Two other vehicles were involved, one hit by the trailer as it swung into the opposite lane, the other driven by a woman who went off the highway to avoid a vehicle that came loose from the car carrier, police said.
The driver of the vehicle that collided with the trailer, Pauline E. Rabideau, 49, of Gansevoort, was taken to Glens Falls Hospital for treatment of neck and back pain, police said. Her injures were not believed to be serious.
Camara’s trailer had three junk vehicles on it, and he told police he felt the load shift before he lost control, officials said. One vehicle came off the trailer, and the two others came partially free. The truck hit a utility pole.
The crash closed the road for several hours.
State Trooper David Stanhope investigated the crash.
