Chico, CA : Woman changes plea in fatal Highway 32 crash on Thursday, 7th June 2018

A Chico woman accused of drunken driving in a fatal crash last year on Highway 32 west of Chico has changed her plea, prosecutors said.

Christine Rowe, 69, pleaded no contest Thursday in Butte County Superior Court to a felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, according to the Butte County District Attorney’s Office.

Rowe was charged in connection with the September death of 22-year-old Luis Saucedo of Corning.

She is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 10 and faces up to 10 years in state prison.

Rowe remained out of custody on her own recognizance.
