Fayetteville,AR : One man killed, two injured after two separate accidents on May, Saturday 12th 2018

One man died and two other people were taken to the hospital after two separate wrecks on Interstate 49 on Saturday, emergency officials said.

A man in his 30s was driving a motorcycle southbound on I-49 when he flipped his motorcycle and was killed at 4:48 p.m., Central EMS Chief Becky Stewart said. The accident was near West Fork.

About the same time, another wreck occurred in the northbound lane at the same location, Stewart said. Two people were taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. Their injuries are not considered severe, she said.

Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler confirmed an accident on the interstate but could not confirm anyone died. More information will be released once a report is finished, he said.

No further information was available Saturday.
