GULFPORT, MS : Gulfport woman killed in Saturday crash on Saturday, March 4th 2017

A woman has been killed in a Harrison County car crash.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove tells local media that 71-year-old Teresa Speir of Gulfport was killed in the Saturday afternoon crash.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says a 17-year-old driving a Ford F-150 was attempting to cross Mississippi Highway 67. While doing so, the teen crashed into Speir’s 2013 Lexus that was northbound on the highway.

Speir was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 17-year-old suffered minor injuries. His passenger, a 7-year-old boy, was taken by helicopter to the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile. The boy’s condition was unknown Sunday.
