TEWKSBURY, MA : A woman who suffered a head injury following a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday, November, 15th 2017

A woman who suffered a head injury following a single-vehicle crash on Marshall Street around 4 p.m. Wednesday was flown to a Boston-area hospital by MedFlight helicopter.

The unidentified driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was bleeding from the head and was unconscious at the scene shortly after slamming into a utility pole, according to an emergency radio broadcast.

The utility pole struck by the SUV remained suspended at an angle over the roadway after coming to a rest on top of wires. National Grid personnel were on scene dealing with the damage shortly after 5 p.m.

The utility pole involved is along the property of 283 Marshall St.
