Raynham, MA : Motorcyclist injured in Raynham crash on Friday afternoon, September 9, 2016

A male motorcyclist was transported via medical helicopter late Friday afternoon following a crash with a black Chevy SUV on Route 44 in front of the Raynham Marketplace plaza at about 4:30 p.m.

The extent of the man’s injuries was not available as of press time Friday. No one else was injured, police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, it appears the accident occurred when the female driver of the SUV attempted to pull out of the Raynham Marketplace plaza and turn east on Route 44, police said.

At that point, her vehicle collided with the motorcycle as it headed west on Route 44, police said.

It does not appear that speed was a factor in the accident on the part of either driver, police said.

The medical helicopter, a Life Flight helicopter, took off from the parking lot of the Route 44 Raynham Walmart.
