Millcreek Township police traffic investigators Friday continued to piece together the details of a Thursday afternoon crash involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle that led to the death of an Erie woman.

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook on Friday identified the victim as 62-year-old Denise Schlabach. Cook ruled her death as accidental due to multiple blunt-force trauma.

Schlabach was pronounced dead at UPMC Hamot after the crash, which happened in the 4800 block of Zuck Road shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday.

She was a passenger on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by 63-year-old Richard Lord, of Millcreek Township, that was traveling south on Zuck Road when it collided with a northbound Buick Enclave driven by Matthew McLaughlin, 30, of Edinboro, according to the Millcreek Township Police Department.

Lord was taken to UPMC Hamot and was listed in serious condition on Friday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
