Fontana,CA : Fontana woman is killed in three-vehicle crash on August, Friday 4th 2017
A 59-year-old Fontana resident was killed in a three-vehicle traffic collision in central Fontana on Aug. 4, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner's Division.
The incident occurred at 7:42 p.m. at the intersection of Randall and Cypress avenues.
Eva Velasquez was a passenger in one of three vehicles involved in the crash. She was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where she was declared deceased at 10:17 p.m.
According to the Fontana Police Department, a juvenile was driving a 2004 Infiniti westbound on Randall approaching Cypress and failed to stop for the posted stop sign. The Infiniti struck a 2001 Kia Sportage, which had stopped for the stop sign and was proceeding southbound through the intersection on Cypress.
The Infiniti continued westbound and struck a third vehicle, which had been heading eastbound on Randall.
Numerous occupants of the three vehicles were injured, including the juvenile driver of the Infiniti, who was transported to a hospital with abrasions to the leg, and the 56-year-old driver of the Kia, who was transported with facial injuries.
The Infiniti and Kia both sustained major damage.
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision, which is under investigation.
