A Crescent man was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle accident in Kingfisher County.
Curtis Dale Hixon, 34, died at the scene of the accident at the intersection of two county roads eight miles west and one mile south of Crescent, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
According to the report, Hixon was driving a 2004 Ford three-quarter ton pickup west on a county road and failed to yield to a 2008 Peterbilt semi-trailer driven by Howard Wayne Ediger, 53, of Hennessey. According to the report, Hixon’s vehicle caught fire and he was pinned for four hours before being freed by Dover Fire Department.
Ediger was not injured, according to the report, which listed “failure to yield to vehicle on the right” as the cause of the accident. Ediger was wearing a seat belt, according to the report, while Hixon was not.
