Albuquerque, NM : 51-year-old Dr Teodora Konstantinova killed in fatal crash on Saturday January 2 2016.

A doctor who practiced at the UNM and Veteran Administration Hospitals has died after being involved in a weekend crash.
Albuquerque Police department says a truck hit 51-year-old Dr. Teodora Konstantinova's car from behind at Louisiana and Constitution Saturday morning.
KOB has learned that Konstantinova has died as a result of the injuries she received from the crash.
According to Konstantinova's friends, she was known as Tedi.
Her friends say, “Tedi” was a talented doctor with a heart of gold and a smile that could light up a room.
Dr. Konstantinova was working as professor at UNM Hospital and practicing at the local VA Hospital at the same time, according to colleagues.
They lost an outstanding internist, physician and a person who really cared about their welfare,” Gastroenterologist Denis McCarthy said.
McCarthy says he was not only a colleague and mentor to Konstantinova- but he was also a close friend.
She was kind and even when people were difficult and suffering from PTSD and didn't want to talk to anyone, she would put up with them all patiently and reach out to them even when they were being hostile,” McCarthy said.
