A South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper has been critically injured in a wreck on an interstate highway.
Greenville County Sheriff's Sgt. Jimmy Bolt said in a news release the wreck happened on Interstate 385 near Greenville shortly before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Bolt said the trooper was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Highway Patrol Capt. Kelley Hughes said in a news release that Trooper Daniel K. Rebman was in critical condition.
Bolt said the trooper was parked in the emergency lane when a pickup truck hit the back of the patrol car. Bolt said no one else was hurt.
Deputies are investigating the wreck since it involved a trooper. Bolt said a decision on charges will be made later.
