Perry County, IL : Tarsha Williams, 37, killed and Phillip Johnson, 48, and Brian Henderson, 69, injured in crash at Greens Market Road and Kathleen Mine Road in Du Quoin on Saturday, Aug 8, 2015

A fatal traffic crash in Perry County has left one person dead.

Tarsha Williams, 37, of Du Quoin was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident at the intersection of Greens Market Road and Kathleen Road at about 8:04 a.m. Saturday.

Williams was driving a 2004 dark blue Cadillac with Phillip Johnson, 48, of Du Quoin as a passenger. According to state police, Williams was traveling eastbound of Greens Market Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign and hit Brian Henderson, 69, of Du Quoin, driving a 2015 Jeep Wrangler.

Johnson was flown to a St. Louis hospital with severe leg trauma and Henderson was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

State police are continuing to investigate the crash. Du Quoin Fire and Police, along with Perry County Sheriff’s office assisted with the accident.
