BLOOMINGTON, IN : 3 from Greenwood killed in Monroe County bus crash on July, Saturday 22th 2017

The three people that died in a crash that also left a child hospitalized were all from Greeenwood.

It happened Saturday afternoon around 1:45 p.m. on North State Road 37 – Business, near Bayles Road and involved multiple vehicles.

According to a statement released by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a passenger bus collided with stopped southbound traffic, hitting several of the stopped cars.

Authorities say three people in one vehicle were killed and a child from the same vehicle was taken to the hospital.

The victims have been identified as 54-year-old Rose Pettus, 30-year-old Shane Lewis and 30-year-old Orlando Lewis Jr., who were all from Greenwood.

Indiana State Police and Monroe County Sheriff accident reconstructionists are investigating the crash.

Business 37 was closed from Old State Road 37 to past Bayles Road as of 6:10 p.m. Saturday.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday in Terre Haute.
