AVONDALE, AZ ; 2 dead, 4 hurt after driver runs red light, causes crash in Avondale on Sunday, 4th August 2024

Two people are dead, and several more are hurt after a driver ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle on Sunday.

Around 12:30 a.m., Avondale police say a driver ran a red light near Dysart and Thomas roads and struck another vehicle that was attempting to turn left. Two passengers who were in the backseat of the at-fault vehicle were killed in the collision. The alleged red light runner and front passenger were both hospitalized with minor injuries.
