A Bremen woman died Friday evening in a single-vehicle accident in Marshall County.

The car left the roadway after colliding with a deer, according to Indiana State Police.

The driver of the car, Mary E. Durlin, 62, of Bremen, died as a result of injuries she suffered in the accident, police said. Two small children who were in car seats in the rear passenger seat were not injured.

The crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. Friday on U.S. 6 near Rose Road, west of LaPaz. The highway was closed while crash reconstructionists and medical personal worked at the scene.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Walkerton Police Department.
