MEMPHIS, TN : 1 dead, 2 seriously injured after car crash on Mt. Moriah and I-240 following traffic stop on Tuesday, 12th December 2023

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said an accident on Mt. Moriah and I-240 following a traffic stop left one dead and two injured on Tuesday.

At around 4:15 p.m., the SCSO said a deputy initiated a traffic stop at southbound Mt. Moriah near American Way. As the deputy got out of his car and approached the suspect's car, the suspect made a U-turn and sped off northbound on Mt. Moriah.
