Man, 48, remains hospitalized after motorcycle crash
A 48-year-old man seriously injured in an traffic accident in Ocala on Tuesday remains hospitalized.
Ocala police officials said Thursday that Michael Crosby was listed in fair condition at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
Palma Denaro, the 87-year-old driver whose car collided with Crosby's motorcycle, was given a citation for violation of a traffic control device, authorities said. She was ticketed for not following a sign's direction to only turn right when exiting the Kmart parking lot onto Northeast 36th Avenue.
Police officers on the scene said Denaro was driving a black 1997 Honda Accord and pulled out of the parking lot to make a left turn.
Crosby, who was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the inside lane, was going north on Northeast 36th Avenue and struck the Accord.
He was taken by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
Denaro was not injured.
