Topeka, KS : Topeka teen injured in a single-vehicle crash at Interstate 70 On Tuesday, May 17th, 2016
A teen was hospitalized late Tuesday after the car she was riding in was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 just east of downtown Topeka.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday on I-70 at the S.E. Branner Trafficway.
The patrol said a 2007 Pontiac Torrent sport utility vehicle was traveling east on I-70 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which then struck the south guardrail.
A passenger in the SUV, Julia M. Johnson, 14, of Topeka, was taken by American Medical Response ambulance to Stormont Vail Hospital. The patrol said Johnson was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the SUV, Khalani A. Britt, 3 5, of Topeka, and another passenger, Michele I. Roland, 59, of Topeka, were reported to be uninjured. Both were wearing their seat belts, the patrol said.
