One person was transported to the hospital as a precaution after a three-vehicle collision on the Highway 90 bypass diverted traffic Tuesday afternoon.

The collision occurred just before 1 p.m. when a white Mercedes SUV heading north on the bypass ran a red light at Campus Drive and struck a black Toyota RAV4 crossing the intersection. The impact caused the Toyota to spin several times before colliding into a silver Ford Focus waiting to turn left onto the bypass.

The female driver of the Toyota was extricated from her vehicle and transported to the Canyon Vista Medical Center as a precaution. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision, said Sierra Vista Ofcr. Justin Dannels.
