Ventura, CA : Man killed in Highway 101 crash in Ventura on Tuesday, February 2, 2016
A man was killed late Tuesday in a crash along Highway 101 in Ventura, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash was reported about 11:35 p.m. along the south side of the highway near the Highway 126 exit. The driver, Christopher Brown, 22, of Ventura, turned his car toward the left and along the edge of the freeway, according to the CHP. He then hit a concrete wall, spun out across all three lanes of the highway and hit a guardrail.
He was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car and landed on the center divider and a lane, according to the CHP.
Brown was taken to Ventura County Medical Center and pronounced dead about an hour later, officials said. He died of blunt-force injuries, and the incident was ruled an accident, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office.
