Jennings,MO: Teen charged in suburban St. Louis crash that killed 2 on August, Wednesday 30th 2017

Court records say a teenage driver charged in a crash that killed two passengers and seriously injured two others had been trying to reach a speed of 120 mph on a residential street in suburban St. Louis.

St. Louis County prosecutors filed two counts each of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and second-degree assault against 17-year-old Joneisse Redmond on Wednesday. No attorney is listed for her in online court records.

The probable cause statement says Redmond was 16 and driving a car without a license in November when she crashed into a tree. The crash killed 16-year-old Theodore Barnett III and 15-year-old Michael Leachman.

Police say Redmond said she was “was gonna try to hit 120” but lost control. Redmond was certified to be tried as an adult in July.
